$45 M Maine Technology Asset Fund!

The Maine Technology Institute (MTI) is administering $45 million in funding for infrastructure, equipment, and technology upgrades supporting research, development and commercialization projects for Maine companies! MTI has designed the Maine Technology Asset Fund (MTAF)  program to offer a low barrier to entry - no long, detailed applications are required for the first phase. These "Lightening Rounds" require only a 10-page slide deck. Applications are being accepted now through December 8, 2017. Give me a shout if you're interested in learning more or if you'd like help preparing your deck.

Congrats to former client Forager!

In mid-2015 I helped Forager obtain a Development Loan from the Maine Technology Institute to develop their digital procurement application for local food producers and buyers. After a successful beta season last year it looks like they're ready to go bit! Congrats to the whole team!

Cleantech Open 2017!

Join E2Tech at a kick-off for this year's national Cleantech Open startup accelerator competition on April 13 at 5:30 pm at Cloudport. Maine is the home to several past national finalists, including Surge Hydro - the little hydropower company that could - who won the national award for the "Business Model with the Best Chance for Immediate Investment and Commercialization." Come by and find out how this competition can get your big idea the national exposure, funding, and connections you need to succeed.

Big idea? Need funding?

Join me at the Maine Technology Institute's workshop on SBIR funding from the National Science Foundation on March 28! It's free and you'll learn all about how to apply for these grants. The next round is due in June. MTI offers excellent assistance to prepare your application, as well as funding to hire a grant writer like me!

Surge Hydro Cleantech Open Northeast Regional Winner!

Congrats to my clients, David Markley and Nicholas Cabral of Surge Hydro, on being named one of just four winners from the northeast who will go on to compete in the Cleantech Open Global Forum with a chance to win $100,000 in investments and in-kind services. Their start-up business is developing technology to economically electrify idle, low-head dams without the ecological damage caused with traditional dam electrification technologies. These guys represent Maine's young best and brightest! Read more about on the Cleantech Open Northeast website.

Greenlight Maine Winner is Garbage to Garden!

Kuddos to Garbage to Garden on winning the first Greenlight Maine competition. They are not a client of mine - I am one of there's! Love their service. Love their compost. Congrats to them. Although Revolution Research did not win, I congratulate their selection as a finalist and know that they have a very bright future.

Congrats to Delta Dewatering - regional finalist in the Cleantech Open!

Three Maine companies compete in regional clean tech contest.

Kudos to another one of my brilliant entrepreneur clients! James Goodwin's Delta Dewatering will benefit from this accelerator program's mentoring and funding connections and they are moving on to the next level competition, which could earn them up to $250,000!  Delta Dewatering is developing an innovative technology for rapidly separating solids from water on a self-contained, mobile platform. I am helping them prepare an SBIR Phase I application to the National Science Foundation for R&D funding.

The future of Maine's Forest Products Industry

Attended this great conference organized by Biobased Maine. Very interesting speakers, tours of Maine Standard Biofuels, and exhibits. Good to see my clients from Revolution Research and the progress they are making on their bio-based insulation products using nanocellulose produced at UMaine.

Revolution Research wins Top Gun Competition!

Revolution Research wins Top Gun Competition!

Congratulations to my clients at Revolution Research on their win at MCED's Top Gun competition finals last night. They are going to "revolutionize" the building products industry with eco-friendly, bio-based products produced with raw materials sources right here in Maine. I have helped them with several MTI grant applications, a Phase II STTR application to the NSF, and an EPA Phase I SBIR application for a second product. I'm very proud of their well deserved accomplishments and it has been a pleasure working with them.
